The elections to the executive committee of the Central Circuit Cine Association, the body of distributors and exhibitors of C.P.C.I. Rajasthan, on 25th September in Bhusawal are expected to be a tame affair. As against over 1,000 votes in the good old days when the elections used to be keenly contested, the votes cast this year to elect the executive committee for 2021-23 are likely to be barely 150. Attendance of only about 300 members is expected. Not just the Coronavirus scare but also the decline in membership of the Association has led to this sorry state of affairs. The sharp decrease in the number of members (there are only 354 members currently) is due to the declining importance of the Association in the eyes of its members.
The Chowksey panel will be fielding candidates in every section and in each of the three circuits. The following candidates are finally likely to be in the fray after last-minute withdrawals:
C.P. Berar Distribution Section (to elect 3): Anil Rathi (independent), Lokendra Jain (Chowksey Panel), Pramodkumar Munot (independent), Sharang Chandak (Chowksey Panel), Vinod Bhandari (Chowksey Panel), Vipin L. Sharma (independent). All the three independent candidates might withdraw.
C.P. Berar Exhibition Section (to elect 3): Ashok Jain (independent), Naresh Chowdhary (Chowksey Panel), Prakalp Rathi (Chowksey Panel), Pramodkumar Munot (independent), Sanjay Surana (Chowksey Panel), Virendra Lunkad (independent). There’s a likelihood of Munot withdrawing his candidature.
Chhattisgarh Distribution Section (to elect 1): Dilip Lunia (Chowksey Panel), Ramgopal Kumawat (independent).
Chhattisgarh Exhibition Section (to elect 1): Shantilal Lunkad (Chowksey Panel). Since there is no other candidate, he will be elected unopposed.
C.I. Distribution Section (to elect 2): Basant Kumar Laddha (Chowksey Panel), Sandip Jain (Chowksey Panel), Sharad Sharma (independent), Vishal Yadav (independent).
C.I. Exhibition Section (to elect 2): Aditya Chowksey (Chowksey Panel), Anand Yadav (independent), J.P. Chowksey (Chowksey Panel), Mohit Jain (independent), Pramod Kedia (independent). Mohit Jain and Kedia might withdraw.
Rajasthan Distribution Section (to elect 2): Chandrashekhar Chowdhary (Chowksey Panel), Kishore Kumar Kala (Opposition Panel), Sandeep Bhandari (Chowksey Panel), Satyavan Pareek (Opposition Panel), Basudev Chachan (independent).
Rajasthan Exhibition Section (to elect 2): Kailashchand Sharma (Chowksey Panel), Kishanchand Janiani (independent), Nandkishore (Nandu) Jalani (Opposition Panel), Pawan Kumar Todi (Opposition Panel), R.K. Shara (Chowksey Panel).
Satyawan Pareek, Kishore Kumar Kala, Nandu Jalani and Pawan Kumar Todi are all contesting from Rajasthan under the leadership of Satyawan Pareek.
