‘DHOOP CHHAON’ REVIEW | 4 November, 2022

Forever Big Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Seven Wing Films’ Dhoop Chhaon (UA) is a family drama.

Shaurya (Abhishek Duhan) works for underworld don Daljeet Singh (Rahul Dev). He wants elder brother Aman to study and lead a happy life. Shaurya falls in love with Daljeet Singh’s daughter, Simram (Simrithi Bhatija). Meanwhile, Aman (Aham Sharma) is in love with Meghna (Samiksha Bhatnagar). One day, Daljeet Singh is murdered by Pujari. To avenge Daljeet’s murder, Shaurya kills Pujari. Soon, Shaurya marries Simran while Aman weds Meghna. Years pass by. Both the brothers have two kids each.

One day, Pujari’s son, Rana, plots to kill Shaurya but instead, Aman is killed. Years pass by. Aman’s son, Omkar, goes wayward. What is Shaurya’s stance?

Sanjay Jain has written a clichéd story which tries to pack in too much. Hemant Sharan and Amit Sarkar’s screenplay is okay but lacks freshness. It mostly moves in a predictable fashion and hence fails to engage the viewers. In other words, although the family drama is somewhat engaging, it does not create the desired impact because one has seen such proceedings in umpteen earlier films. Dialogues (by Hemant Sharan and Amit Sarkar) are alright.

Abhishek Duhan performs well as Shaurya. Simrithi Bhatija makes a fair debut. She also looks alright. Aham Sharma is okay as Aman. Samiksha Bhatnagar is good as Meghna. Rahul Bagga lends nice support as Surender. Rahul Dev makes his mark as Daljeet Singh but he doesn’t have much to do. Ashish Dixit is ordinary as Omkar. Atul Srivastava (as Meghna’s father), Aryan Bajaj (as Gautam) and Shubhangi Latkar lend average support. Chahat Khanna is alright in a song-dance. Others fit the bill.

Hemant Sharan’s direction is routine. Music (Kashi Richard, Neeraj Shridhar, Amitabh Ranjan and Meenu Kumari) is so-so. Rupam Chetiapatra’s camerawork is functional. Satwant Bal’s action and stunt scenes are okay. Tapan Roy’s production designing hardly deserves separate mention. Sanjay Kumar’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Dhoop Chhaon is too routine to do anything worthwhile at the ticket windows.

Released on 4-11-’22 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Vaishali Motion Pictures. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over.
