EXORBITANT POWER BILL: NOT MUSIC TO ASHA BHOSLE’S EARS | 2 August, 2020

Asha Bhosle has filed a complaint before the Maharashtra state power utility firm, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL), after receiving a bill for Rs. 2.08 lakh for June for her bungalow at Lonavala. Countless people have alleged that they’ve been charged exorbitantly by MSEDCL for electricity supplied in June 2020. The MSEDCL has claimed that the bill for the Lonavala bungalow of Asha Bhosle was based on actual meter reading. The electricity bills for the months of April and May this year were Rs. 8,996.98 and Rs. 8,855.44 respectively. For June 2019, the bill she had received was of Rs. 6,395.66. According to the MSEDCL, the bungalow was being used for shootings. The singer had filed a complaint for inflated bill in 2016 too.
