F.I.R. AGAINST SINGER YASSER DESAI | 9 July, 2025

The Bombay police launched a search for singer Yasser Desai after he allegedly climbed the railing of the Bandra Worli sea link and performed a dangerous stunt early in the morning recently. They lodged an FIR against him and two aides after clips of the stunt went viral.

The police are investigating whether the stunt was related to any upcoming music video launch.

Some passing motorists, who shot videos of the stunt, suspected that it was a suicide attempt and alerted police on social media. A police officer attached to the Bandra (Bombay) police station said, “The singer climbed the edge of the bridge while the other two captured his act. After the stunt, the three left in a car. The motive will be known once he (Yasser Desai) is brought to the police station.”

Sections 285 (danger in public way), 281 (rash driving), 125 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 3(5) (criminal act committed by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of the BNS, and section 184 (dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act have been invoked.
