HC SEEKS LOWER COURT RECORDS IN KANGANA SEDITION CASE | 27 February, 2021

The Bombay high court on 26th February sought records and proceedings of the complaint filed before a Bandra (Bombay) magistrate against Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, by film casting director and fitness trainer Munawwar Ali Sayyed over her alleged inflammatory tweets. The police had registered a sedition case against the sisters.

A bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and Manish Pitale sought the records after Kangana’s lawyer alleged a discrepency and argued that the complaint filed undr Cr. PC section 156(3) doesn’t contain a proper complaint made to the DCP.

The high court adjourned the matter to March 22 and continued its interim relief against arrest for the sisters till then.
