The IMPPA has thanked Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel for restarting the disbursement of subsidy to Gujarati film producers after his meeting with an IMPPA delegation on 6th February. A total of 60 film producers have already been granted subsidy after the said meeting. The IMPPA has also thanked Patel for resuming the screening process for 48 films.
It has requested the government to expedite the screening of more than 125 films which will be eligible for subsidy only after their screening. It has also requested that 12 old films, released during the COVID pandemic, be included in the list of films to be screened. Their producers had failed to apply for subsidy due to oversight in view of the pandemic when the world had gone topsy-turvy.
