Pakistan’s legendary comedian and actor Umer Sharif passed away in Germany today (2nd October) due to cancer. He had not been well since a long time and had asked the Pakistan government for special arrangements for his treatment in the US. He was admitted to Germany’s Nuremberg Hospital on 29th September after his health deteriorated during his flight to the US. The air ambulance had to make an urgent landing in Germany.
Umer Sharif was considered as one of the greatest comedians in the sub-continent. He played wonderful roles in stage dramas. He had also appeared as a guest judge on the Indian stand-up comedy show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.
