Released last week at Rewa (C.I.), Anjali Star Films’ Mama Ki Lado is a film that advocates social change, particularly focusing on women’s empowerment and respect for women in society. It conveys its message by portraying the story of the beautiful bond shared by an uncle and his niece.
Kailash Payashi has written a story which tries to be very heartfelt but turns out to be nothing of the sort. Shashiranjan Dwivedi’s screenplay is routine and has very few good moments. Kailash Payashi’s dialogues are okay.
Anjali Payashi is ordinary. Manish Tomar does an average job. Priya Raikwar is so-so. Rahul Pandey performs routinely. Others pass muster.
Kailash Payashi’s direction is below the mark. Prateek Agrawal and Ameen Shah’s music is nothing to dance about. Background music is weak. Dayalal Chaudhari’s cinematography is barely passable. Numan Sheikh’s art direction is dull. Editing is loose.
On the whole, Mama Ki Lado is a disastrous fare.
