MAN GETS BAIL IN MAHESH BHATT CASE | 13 August, 2022

Three years after he was deported from the US and arrested for an alleged plot to kill Mahesh Bhatt in 2014, the Bombay high court on August 11 granted Obaidullah Radiowala bail after the police failed to establish his role in the crime. Obaidullah is an alleged aide of gangster Ravi Pujari. The court directed that he could be released on bail on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 with one or two sureties of like amount. Obaidullah was asked to surrender his passport within seven days of his release on bail.

Radiowala is also facing charges of plotting to fire at Karim Morani in 2014. Although the police arrested 14 persons in the Mahesh Bhatt and Karim Morani cases, Obaidullah was shown as absconding accused. A red corner notice was issued against him. In 2019, he was deported from the US and chargesheeted. He had been in jail since then.
