MARATHI FILM ACTOR VIJAY KADAM NO MORE | 10 August, 2024

Veteran Marathi film actor Vijay Kadam, known for his comedy roles, passed away today (10th August) in Bombay. He was 66 and had been battling cancer since a year-and-a-half. He was cremated this afternoon.

Vijay started out as a child actor on stage and then went on to become a film actor who specialised in comedy roles. He was a force to reckon with in Marathi cinema in the 1980s and 1990s. Among the Marathi films he was seen in are Irsal Karti, Vasudev Balwant Phadke and Halad Rusli Kunku Hasla. Kadam was also seen in a few Bollywood films such as Ghar Ek Mandir and Aflatoon. He had acted in a number of stage plays and was a well-known name of Marathi stage.

Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, in a message on Twitter, paid his tribute to Kadam for his natural style of acting, comic timing and the ability for extempore repartee while performing on stage.
