Vasavi Enterprises, Uday K. Mehta Productions and KYN Productions’ Martin (dubbed from the Kannada film of the same name; UA) is the story of Lt. Brig. Arjun Saxena (Dhruva Sarja) who decides to fight the evil forces out to destroy India.
Arjun Sarja has written a routine story about a man who can go to any lengths for his motherland. The screenplay gives weightage to action as well as romance. However, lack of novelty does the drama in because nothing in it stands out as being exceptional. Even usual stuff can be exciting if presented in a unique fashion, but that also does not happen in this case. Dialogues are ordinary.
Dhruva Sarja is good as Lt. Brig. Arjun Saxena. Vaibhavi Shandilya is fair as Preeti. Anveshi Jain is alright. Sukrutha Wagle lends decent support. Nikitin Dheer is okay. Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Malavika Avinash, Achyuth Kumar (as navy officer Ashok Kumar), Nawab Shah, Rohit Pathak, Nathan Jones and Rubiel Mosquera lend average support. Others pass muster.
A.P. Arjun’s direction is alright. Mani Sharma’s music is ordinary. Lyrics are average. Ravi Basrur’s background music is nice. Satya Hegde’s camerawork is decent. K.M. Prakash and Mahesh S. Reddy’s editing should’ve been sharper. Dubbing is proper.
On the whole, Martin is a routine fare and doesn’t stand much of a chance at the ticket counters.
Released on 11-10-’24 at Gemini (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru White Lion Entertainment. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak at most of the places.
