‘NARUTO THE MOVIE: NINJA CLASH IN THE LAND OF SNOW’ (ANIMATION; DUBBED) REVIEW | 27 June, 2025

Studio Pierrot’s Naruto The Movie: Ninja Clash In The Land Of Snow (animation; dubbed from the Japanese film of the same name; UA) is the story of a princess who is saved by a team when she is captured by her own uncle who had murdered her father.

Kakashi Hatake summons Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno to watch a film starring Yukie Fujikaze, in a local cinema. The film viewing is in preparation for their mission to prevent Yukie from being captured during the production of her new film. Yukie is later revealed to be Koyuki Kazahana, a princess from an island known as the Land of Snow. Doto Kazahana, who is revealed to be Koyuki’s uncle, was responsible for the murder of her father, Sosetsu. Anyway, Koyuki is captured by Doto’s henchmen during the new film’s shooting. Naruto enters the ship to rescue Koyuki but he is also captured. Now, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi infiltrate the fortress while Naruto and Koyuki escape from captivity. Once again, Doto flees with Koyuki. Naruto follows Doto. How he eliminates Doto and saves Koyuki is revealed in the latter part of the drama.

Katsuyuki Sumisawa has written an ordinary story and a predictable screenplay. The drama does have some interesting and engaging scenes but they are few and far between. Dialogues are so-so.

Voice acting of the animation characters is proper. Animation is very nice.

Tensai Okamura’s direction is average. Toshio Masuda’s music is functional. Background music is ordinary. Atsuho Matsumoto’s cinematography is eye-filling. Seiji Morita’s editing, especially in the early parts, leaves something to be desired. Dubbing is lovely.

On the whole, Naruto The Movie: Ninja Clash In The Land Of Snow is a dull fare.

Released on 27-6-’25 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Reliance Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
