NCPCR DRAFTS GUIDELINES FOR CHILD ARTISTES | 29 July, 2022

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has drafted new guidelines to protect child artistes in the entertainment industry. It has been proposed that no child actor should work for more than 27 consecutive days in a year and over six hours in a day. The draft Regulatory Guidelines for Child Participation in the Entertainment Industry will cover films, TV, OTT and everything else where child artistes are involved.

The new proposed rules provide for presence of a tutor, child counselling during shooting, limited work hours and regular breaks.
