‘PALAK’ REVIEW | 10 February, 2023

Released this week in U.P. (at Bahraich), Brandex Entertainment, Chitragupt Arts and Uni Players Films’ Palak (UA) is the story of a visually impaired girl.

Ankur Khatri has written a routine story and screenplay. Even his dialogues are commonplace.

Performances by Muskan Khan, Atul Srivastava, Sheela Sharma, Shailendra Kumar, Tulika Banerji, Puneeta Awasthi, Vikram Sharma and Mohit Awasthi are all average.

Shailesh Srivastav’s direction is dull. Music and lyrics (both by Ashok Shivpuri and S. Vikas) are functional. Sabah Saghir Bari’s song picturisations are dull. Background music is weak. Camerawork (by Jayanto Ghosh and Pankaj Soni) is average. Hitesh Pitroda’s art direction is alright. Editing (Umashankar Mishra and Sandeep Singh) is loose.

On the whole, Palak is a poor show all the way.
