PETITION AGAINST KANGANA’S TWITTER ACCOUNT ADJOURNED | 22 December, 2020

The Bombay high court yesterday (December 21) adjourned to January 7, 2021 a petition filed by a lawyer seeking suspension of Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account. The court sought a better explanation from the petitioner on how her posts were unconstitutional.

Lawyer Ali Kaasif Khan Deshmukh said in his petition that he was personally aggrieved by her posts. The state said, Deshmukh’s petition was vague and ought to be dismissed. The bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and M.S. Karnik asked Deshmukh to explain how his fundamental right under Article 21 (right to life and liberty) of the Indian Constitution was violated by the actress’ tweets.
