RSVP and Roy Kapur Films’ Pippa, a war film, mounted the sets in Amritsar today (Sept. 15). Ishaan Khatter plays the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta who was invited by the two production houses to sound the clapper board for the inaugural shot. It co-stars Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan. The film, based on The Burning Chaffees, written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta and scored by A.R. Rahman, is being directed by Raja Krishna Menon. It is a heroic tank battle film which underscores the bravery of Brig. Mehta, a veteran of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron, who, along with his siblings, fought on the Eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh.
