Richa Chadda has filed a defamation suit for Rs. 1.1 crore in damages from actress Payal Ghosh and others, including unknown persons, over “defamatory statements” made against her in a news channel interview. The matter, which was scheduled for hearing before Justice Anil Menon of the Bombay high court on 5th October via video conferencing, was listed for October 7 as the other party was not represented by anyone. The high court asked for documents to be served over again on the defendants.
Richa wants the court to restrain Payal and others from publishing or speaking anything defamatory about her in relation to any disputes between Payal and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
