Rehman alias Ramzan Mujjawar, a former driver of Sonu Nigam’s father, Agam Nigam, was arrested on March 22 for allegedly stealing Rs. 72 lakh from his flat at Andheri West. The Oshiwara (Bombay) police nabbed the accused from his Jogeshwari home in Bombay.
The money was kept in a digital locker at Agam Nigam’s home as it was reportedly to be given to an interior designer for renovation work. After Rehman’s arrest, the police on March 24 recovered Rs. 70.70 lakh of the stolen amount from his home in Kolhapur. Rehman confessed before the police that he planned the theft since he was sacked eight months back. He had a key of the flat, which he did not return even after being sacked. He used that key to gain entry into the flat between March 19 and 20 when Agam Nigam was not at home.
