SHOOTINGS TO RESUME BUT WITH LOT OF RESTRICTIONS | 2 June, 2020

Shootings are all set to resume in the film and television industries but with a lot many restrictions. Production houses will have to make do with 33% crew members only. Besides, cast and crew members above the age of 65 and below the age of 10 will not be allowed to shoot. Scenes of close proximity of actors will have to be avoided. Equipments will have to be brought by the person using them, even a pen cannot be borrowed. Stars will have to come on the sets with their make-up and hair done. In other words, make-up persons and hairstylists will not be allowed on the sets. The Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees have written to the Maharashtra government that it would not be possible to shoot with the restriction of age of the cast members as a lot many stars of under-production films, like Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher, as also a number of directors, like David Dhawan, are over 65 years of age. They have also asked the government to do away with the requirement to keep doctors, nurses and ambulances present on every shooting set as that may be very difficult.

Producers will have to obtain a number of permissions from police and district authorities before they can commence shooting.
