‘SHRIYUT NON-MAHARASHTRIAN’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 6 September, 2024

Uttejanaa Studioz Pvt. Ltd.’s Shriyut Non-Maharashtrian (Marathi; UA) is the story of a cafe owner who is looking to expand his business. But there’s another side to him — he is frantically searching for a criminal. Who is the criminal? Why is the entrepreneur baying for his blood?

Gaurav Upasani has written a story which doesn’t quite hold the audience’s attention. The screenplay, penned jointly by Gaurav Upasani and Ajinkya Upasani, is not very engaging. Several portions are quite predictable too. What’s more, the thrill of watching an exciting drama is almost completely absent. The duo’s dialogues are so-so.

Gaurav Upasani is ordinary. Atharva Deshpande does an average job. Sayali Vaidya hardly impresses. Sampada Gaikwad’s acting is commonplace. Vaibhav Randhawe is okay. Sarvesh Joshi is passable. Others pass muster.

Ajinkya Upasani’s direction is below the mark but his camerawork is alright. His editing is loose. Sumedh Mirji’s music and background score are nothing to shout about. Lyrics (Dr. Parthsarthi and Gaurav Upasani) are so-so.

On the whole, Shriyut Non-Maharashtrian is too ordinary to make any mark at the box-office.

Released on 6-9-’24 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Single Window. Publicity & opening: poor.
