SWA ANNOUNCES SCRIPT LAB FOR EMERGING TALENT | 13 September, 2021

The ScreenWriters Association has announced the first ever Script Lab for feature films — Script Lab 2022. A panel consisting of six mentors are on board the Lab. They are Vikramaditya Motwane, Sujoy Ghosh, Abhishek Chaubey, Alankrita Srivastava, Sudip Sharma and Smita Singh.

The SWA Script Lab is designed as a step towards nurturing emerging talent in the industry and helping them learn more about the screenwriting craft. Emerging screenwriters can submit the first completed draft of their script to the SWA. It can be original or a literary adaptation. Upon successful completion of the criteria and after two rounds of the selection process, upto six best scripts will be chosen as finalists. The six finalists will get the opportunity to have his/her script polished in accordance with current trends, norms and technicalities, by the panel of mentors of the Lab. The six finalists will get one-to-one online feedback on their scripts on Zoom call with four of the mentors at the SWA Script Lab. Each of the finalists will also get a licensed copy of the world-renowned screenwriting software, Final Draft 12, for free.

Registrations opened on 8th September, 2021. The last date to apply is 25th October, 2021. Registration fee: Rs. 1,000 inclusive of GST.
