Villagers of Dubba Thanda in Maddur Mandal of Siddipet district of Telangana have dedicated a temple to actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood. Describing him as the ‘Real Hero of India’ for his exemplary philanthropy during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, women inhabitants, dressed in traditional attire, sang songs before a bust of Sood to mark the opening of the temple on 20th December. The bust was made by a local artist. The villagers put a tilak on the forehead of the bust and also performed aarti. A banner behind the bust read ‘Real Hero of India Sonu Sood Temple’.
Sonu had helped scores of underprivileged countrymen by arranging for their safe return to their native places during the lockdown. He had also launched a job portal for the migrant labourers by collaborating with several employment providers.
