Television actor Karan Mehra was arrested from his residence by the Goregaon (Bombay) police last night (31st May) after his actress-wife, Nisha Rawal, filed a complaint that he thrashed her following a brawl between themselves. He was granted bail soon thereafter.
The Goregaon police filed a case against Karan under Indian Penal Code sections 336 (endangering human life or the personal safety of others), 337 (causing hurt by an act which endangers human life), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation). He was called at the police station today (1st June) to record his statement.
