Television actress Ketaki Chitale, already in jail for sharing an allegedly defamatory social media post against NCP chief Sharad Pawar, was arrested by the Rabale (Thane) police on May 19 in an atrocity case registered against her in 2020.
The Atrocities Act case was lodged against Ketaki and a Facebook user in March 2020 after a complaint was lodged by a law student of Ghansoli and a member of the Ambedkar Yuva Sangh. No arrests had been made at that time. Three other persons, accused in the case, are untraceable.
The complainant had stated in the FIR that he had received a screenshot on WhatsApp of the post by Ketaki Chitale, who made comments on minority communities.
