Sammruddhi Creations’ Urmi (Marathi; UA) is the story of a young married man who is accused of having fathered another woman’s child.
Dr. Pravin Chaudhari has written a fairly intriguing story but its culmination is not satisfying. Rajesh Balkrishna Jadhav’s screenplay holds the audience’s interest in parts only. The climax is not too engaging or convincing. Rajesh Balkrishna Jadhav’s dialogues are nice.
Chinmay Udgirkar acts ably. Sayali Sanjeev’s performance is decent. Rasika Sunil has done well. Nitish Chavan has his moments. Rutuja R. Junnarkar makes her mark. Sayali Paradkar is quite nice. Madhav Abhyankar lends good support. Others are okay.
Rajesh Balkrishna Jadhav’s direction is reasonably nice. Music (Vijay Gatlewar and Utpal Choudhari) is so-so. Dr. Pravin Chaudhari’s lyrics are proper. Deepali Vichare’s song picturisations are eye-filling. Background music (Anurag Godbole) is of a fine standard. Kaushal Goswami’s cinematography is quite nice. Vicky Bidkar’s art direction is of a good standard. Anant Kamath’s editing could’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Urmi doesn’t have much of a chance at the box-office because of a weak script overall.
Released on 14-4-’23 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor.
