Urmila Matondkar will enter the Maharashtra legislative council as governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s nominee. Her name is likely to be recommended by Shiv Sena president and chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. She will be among 12 persons from various walks of life to be nominated.
It is reported that Urmila, who contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a Congress candidate and lost, rejected a similar offer from Congress for nomination to the council.
