‘VITTHAL MAZA SOBATI’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 23 June, 2023

Fakt Marathi and 99 Production’s Vitthal Maza Sobati (Marathi) is a devotional film.

Dashrath Deshmukh (Arun Nalawade) is a wealthy businessman and a devotee of Lord Vitthal. He is very unhappy about the conflicts between his family members. One day, a house help, Vitthal (Sandeep Pathak), comes to Dashrath Deshmukh’s house and offers his services. Things start improving in the family once Vitthal is employed. Is Vitthal the incarnation of Lord Vitthal?

Sandeep Manohar Naware has written a predictable story. Vikram Edke’s screenplay is okay but it doesn’t have the excitement and thrill needed in a film of this kind. In other words, the drama fails to completely engage the viewers or evoke devotional feelings in them. Edke’s dialogues are so-so.

Sandeep Pathak does well as house help Vitthal. Arun Nalawade is wonderful as Dashrath Deshmukh. Aashay Kulkarni lends decent support as Prashant. Divya Pugaonkar is alright as Suman. Ashwini Kulkarni is adequate in the role of Lalita. Rajendra Shisatkar (as Ramesh) and Abhay Rane (as Nagesh) lend average support. Others pass muster.

Sandeep Manohar Naware’s direction is ordinary. Music (Gaurav Chati and Ganesh Surve) is fair. Gaurav Chati’s lyrics are okay. Gaurav Ponkshe’s camerawork is alright. Manu Asathi’s editing should’ve been sharper.

On the whole, Vitthal Maza Sobati is a flop show.

Released on 23-6-’23 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Sunshine Studios. Publicity & opening: poor.
