Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman 1984 will release in India a day before it hits the screens in the US. Its release in India is scheduled for Thursday, December 24. The film has been postponed a number of times due to the COVID-19 pandemic but it will finally make it to the cinemas after three weeks now. There were rumours that the India release would happen a week before the US release but as things have turned out now, the national release will happen just a day before the international release.
The film trade in India is agog with excitement as this film is expected to open big and, perhaps, revive the cinema trade which is barely limping back to normalcy after cinemas reopened following the seven-month lockdown closure. At places, cinemas have still to reopen.
Meanwhile, Warner’s Tenet is all set to open in the Indian cinemas tomorrow (December 4). Advance booking for the film in the cities (which is where the system of advance booking exists in India) is very good, raising hopes that people will return to cinemas in the big cities, at least, with this film.
