Veteran writer Humayun Mirza passed away at Holy Family Hospital in Bombay last night (16th July) around 11.30 due to blood and prostate cancer. He was cremated this morning (17th). He was 80. The writer had been hospitalised two weeks back and had been critical for the last few days.
Humayun Mirza is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
Humayun Mirza was the eldest in the Mirza Brothers writing team. Besides writing as part of the Mirza Brothers trio, he also wrote films like Zakhmee, Samundar and a couple of others independently. Among the films co-written by Humayun Mirza are Love Story, Kasme Vaade, Dhanwan, Aap Ke Deewane, Salaami, Rama O Rama, Yaara Dildara, Mashooq, Sitamgar and Misaal.
