A controversy has erupted over Tony and Deeya Singh’s upcoming show, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, starring Shweta Tiwari, Varun Badola and Anjali Ratrari. Punjabi film producer-director and actress Preeti Sapru has claimed that the idea for the show has been flicked from the script of her under-production Punjabi film, Teri Meri Gal Ban Gayi. She adds that she had registered the script with IMPPA and the Screen Writers’ Association (SWA) in 2017.
On her part, Deeya Singh says that they had narrated the show concept to the TV channel in 2017. Preeti has moved the Bombay high court for a stay on the telecast of the TV show. Her film is 90% complete.
