Producers Thenandal Films have served actor Dhanush a Rs. 20 crore legal notice over a delayed 2016 Tamil film project which was allegedly stalled midway, incomplete. According to the notice, Dhanush had signed their film, Naan Rudhran, in 2016 but later opted out of it. He promised the producers that he would direct and star in another film under their banner.
Taking his offer seriously, Thenandal Films claims that it invested almost Rs. 20 crore as advance payments and pre-production expenses, including payments made to actors Nagarjuna and S.J. Suryah to act in the said film. The production house alleged that the project had to be stalled midway as Dhanush failed to provide a complete script and allotted his dates to other projects without completing its film.
