Two fraudulent transactions, totally amounting to Rs. 9,000, were carried out on a credit card belonging to actor Kunal Goswami, son of actor-producer-director Manoj Kumar, after he clicked an ad link on Facebook to buy a suitcase online on 21st June. The transaction failed but a few seconds later, two fraudulent transactions were carried out on the card in yuan.
Kunal soon filed a police complaint and also disputed the transaction with the bank. A case was filed under IPC section 420 for cheating and IT Act sections 66(C) for identity theft and 66(D) for cheating by personation.
