MADHUR BHANDARKAR ASKS ASSAM CM TO HAVE SINGLE-WINDOW CLEARANCE | 2 November, 2019

Madhur Bhandarkar, who was in Guwahati recently, met Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and suggested that the state government put a single-window clearance policy in place so that film producers could obtain with ease necessary clearances and permissions for shooting their films. Sonowal informed Bhandarkar about the recently-approved state film policy and added that a lot of steps had been taken by the state government to revive the Assamese film industry. He also requested Madhur to shoot one of his films in Assam and assured him of all co-operation. The chief minister explained that a standard operating procedure (SOP) for a film tourism policy was being prepared.

Madhur Bhandarkar had gone to Guwahati to attend the 3rd Guwahati International Film Festival.
