Navin Productions’ Kaal Trighori (UA) is the story of a married couple. While the wife wants her husband to die, the husband also wants to kill his wife. Both seek the help of the same person to carry out their sinister plans.
Madhuri (Rituparna Sengupta) and Raviraj (Aditya Srivastava) are married. This is Madhuri’s second husband as her first husband had died. Raviraj is superstitious by nature. Madhuri has property worth Rs. 2,000 crore, half of which stands in her name while the other half, in the name of husband Raviraj. While Raviraj wants to kill Madhuri so that he can usurp her entire property, Madhuri wants to eliminate Raviraj so that she can get his share of the property too. Both seek the help of Dr. Manoj (Arbaaz Khan) who gets to know that Madhuri has a heart problem. Dr. Manoj makes Madhuri believe that Raviraj is dead by ‘killing’ him in front of her own eyes. Since Madhuri is a heart patient, the intention is to present Raviraj in front of Madhuri after his ‘death’ so that she dies of a heart attack. After Raviraj appears in front of Madhuri post-‘death’, Madhuri dies of a heart attack. But in reality, she only pretends to die. However, Dr. Manoj, who is also hand-in-glove with Madhuri, convinces Raviraj that Madhuri is dead. What happens thereafter? In the end, who dies and who gets the deceased’s share of property?
Nitin Vaidya’s story is contrived and unconvincing. It is so round-and-about that it fails to impress the viewers. His screenplay relies on situations which look so forced and also so ridiculous that the drama seems highly improbable. Nitin Vaidya’s dialogues are very ordinary.
Aditya Srivastava does well as Raviraj. Rituparna Sengupta is okay in the role of Madhuri. Arbaaz Khan is average as Dr. Manoj. Mahesh Manjrekar makes his mark as police inspector Wagh. Rajesh Sharma is alright as Prof. Avinesh Chakraborty. Mugdha Godse hardly gets any scope; she is so-so. Others barely pass muster.
Nitin Vaidya’s direction is poor. His editing also leaves a lot to be desired. Amar Mohile’s background music is average. Kush Chhabria’s cinematography is okay. Tariq Umar Khan’s production designing is not very exciting.
On the whole, Kaal Trighori is a box-office debacle.
Released on 14-11-’25 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru PEN Marudhar Cine Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
