An accused, arrested in connection with the firing at actor Salman Khan’s house last month, attempted suicide in the lock-up of Bombay police’s crime branch on May 1 and died in hospital where he was rushed to. Anuj Thapan, 23, hanged himself inside the toilet of the lock-up using a bedsheet. He was rushed to the state-run GT Hospital and died during treatment.
An accidental death report will be registered at the Azad Maidan police station in South Bombay.
Thapan was arrested from Punjab along with Sonu Kumar Bishnoi for allegedly supplying weapons to shooters Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal. The shooters were arrested earlier.
