‘NAKHREWAALII’ REVIEW | 30 October, 2026

Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’s Nakhrewaalii (A) is about a guy who holds himself out to be a girl because he thinks, women have it easy.

Divy Nidhi Sharma has written a story which has novelty value but it doesn’t entertain the way it should. His screenplay has some interesting parts because of which some nice and entertaining moments emerge, but they don’t add up to an exciting or engaging enough drama. Also, since the characters are played by lesser-known actors, the overall resistance of the public to watch the drama cannot be dismissed. Situations are hackneyed, adding to the predictability factor despite the storyline being somewhat different. Divy Nidhi Sharma’s dialogues are nice.

Ansh Duggal acts well as Sumit and Sumita. He is very natural. Pragathi Srivastava performs very ably as Paridhi. Akash Makhija lends decent support as Jhaadi. Gopal Dutt is quite nice as Paridhi’s father. Kumud Mishra makes a mark as Raj Saab. Aayushi Verma is alright as Mihika. Kajol Bhadana (as Sumit’s sister), Rishi Raj Bhasin (as Sardar), Farhana Fatema (as Sumit’s mother), Neeta Satnani (as Paridhi’s relative) and Aman Shah (as Mihika’s boyfriend) provide fair support. Others are okay.

Rahul Shanklya’s direction is average. His narration doesn’t make the drama very entertaining. Music (Vayu, Vaibhav Pani, Sharan Rawat, Gaurav Chatterji and Tanishk Bagchi) is quite good, but the songs have not become popular. Lyrics (by Vayu, Megha Vikas Bali and Ginny Diwan) are quite nice. Vijay A. Ganguly’s choreography is ordinary. Aman Pant’s background music should’ve been better. Chirantan Das does a reasonable job of the camerawork. Sunil Rodrigues’ action and stunt scenes are functional. Production designing (Nikhil Kovale and Apurva Bhagat) is okay. Abhishek Anand’s editing is quite sharp.

On the whole, Nakhrewaalii is a non-starter.

Released on 30-10-’26 at Inox (daily 4 shows) and other cinemas of Bombay by Jio Studios. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was poor everywhere.
