‘CREATION OF THE GODS I: KINGDOM OF STORMS’ (DUBBED) REVIEW | 21 June, 2024

Tencent Pictures, Beijing Jingxi Culture & Tourism and Mongketengri Pictures’ Creation Of The Gods I: Kingdom Of Storms (dubbed from a Chinese film; UA) is a story about power and the games people play for it.

Based on 16th century Chinese novel Investiture Of The Gods by Xu Zhonglin, the story is about Gods and demons and combines history, mythology, fantasy and folklore. The story and screenplay are written by Ran Ping, Ran Jianan, Wuershan and Cao Sheng. The drama is boring and would hold scant appeal for the Indian audience.

Performances are ordinary. Wuershan’s direction is below the mark. Wang Yu’s cinematography is nice. Gordy Haab’s background music is of a fine standard. Editing (by Ka-Fai Cheung, Yuan Du and Shuo Huang) is loose. Dubbing is ordinary.

On the whole, Creation Of The Gods I: Kingdom Of Storms is a flop show.

Released on 21-6-’24 at Glamour (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru Filmastra Studios. Publicity & opening: weak. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
