Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra, skipped his scheduled appearance at the Enforcement Directorate on December 2. He had been summoned to record his statement regarding the money laundering probe connected to adult content creation and its distribution via mobile applications. Kundra is expected to appear before the ED tomorrow (December 4). The agency has also called actress Gehana Vasisth to record her statement on December 9.
Reports indicate that Raj Kundra’s previous employees had uploaded explicit and obscene videos, allegedly shot by Gehana, on Hotshots mobile application. The ED had on November 29 and 30 searched 19 locations, including the house of Shilpa Shetty and Raj, and four offices, across Bombay, Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh. During these raids, the ED blocked several bank accounts and collected mobile phones for investigations.
The probe centres on allegations regarding the production of pornographic films and its dissemination through digital platforms. In 2021, Kundra, Gehana and other suspects had been arrested by the Bombay police for producing and uploading adult content online. They were later granted bail.
