A 32-year-old lady died and two others suffered injuries in a stampede outside Sandhya cinema in Hyderabad at the premiere of Telugu Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 on 4th December night. A boy, who fell during the stampede and became unconscious, was revived by police who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him. He was rushed to hospital thereafter. The woman, Revati, was also given CPR and rushed to a hospital but she succumbed while being given treatment. Her little son was seriously injured and is still critical in hospital.
The lady had gone to the cinema along with her husband and two children. According to the police, she may have got trapped in the crowd while trying to give cover to her kids. The melee happened because Allu Arjun was present at the premiere and there was a scramble to meet him.
