Yug, the 14-year-old son of actor Ajay Devgan, is debuting in the world of entertainment with the Hindi dubbed version of Karate Kid: Legends. Yug has dubbed for the character of Li Fong. Ben Wang is the actor who has reprised the role of Li Fong in the American martial arts drama.

Karate Kid: Legends is the sixth film in the Karate Kid franchise. Ajay Devgan has dubbed the dialogues for Jackie Chan in the Hindi dubbed version of the film which is slated for release in India in English, Hindi (dubbed), Tamil (dubbed) and Telugu (dubbed) on May 30. The original version will hit the screens in the US and Canada on the same day. It opened in Mexico City on 8th May. The film has been produced by Columbia Pictures and is being distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing.

Sony Pictures hit upon the idea of roping in Yug for the dubbing on learning that he was a huge Karate Kid fan. Ajay Devgan was brought on board after his son agreed to dub for the key character of Li Fong. Yug completed the dubbing in about seven days. Revealed proud papa Ajay Devgan at the launch of the Hindi trailer of the film today (14th May) at PVR Juhu, “On the day Yug went for his audition, the Sony people rang me up to tell me that some of his dubbing during the audition was so good that they were going to retain that in the final copy!” Yug added that his first job was not too taxing and he enjoyed dubbing for the character. Although it had nothing to do with the task on hand, Yug fell sick during the time he was dubbing. This necessitated taking a break for a bit.

While this is Yug’s first ever attempt at dubbing, this is also the first time that Ajay has dubbed for a Hollywood film.
