A 47-year-old Dubai resident, Gajala Siddiqui, was arrested for trespassing into actor Aditya Roy Kapur’s flat at Bandra (Bombay) on May 26. She claimed to be acquainted with Aditya, arrived at his Rizvi Heights home directly from the airport with gifts and clothes, and refused to leave without meeting him. The drama lasted for an hour-and-a-half before the actor’s manager and the Khar police were called.
Although Gajala claimed to know Aditya for long, the actor said, he didn’t recall ever meeting her. On his return from shooting, the lady tried to approach Aditya, prompting him to leave the house immediately. The Khar police took Siddiqui into custody. She refused to say anything to the police. It emerged that she was from Dubai and did not have a mobile phone. She was served a notice for house-trespass or house-breaking under section 331(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which attracts up to two years’ imprisonment. She was produced before the Bandra court on May 27.
