‘2020 DELHI’ REVIEW | 14 November, 2025

Midas Touch Films and Visual Birds Studio’s 2020 Delhi (UA) is the story of the communal riots that broke out in Delhi in February 2020, sparked by anti-CAA protests during US President Donald Trump’s visit to India.

The paths of two boys from opposing worlds cross when they meet in an abandoned factory. The two meet Radheshyam, a Pakistani Hindu refugee. That’s when they race against time to expose a sinister conspiracy which threatens to tear the city apart.

Devendra Maalviya’s story, based on real-life incidents, is fair but his screenplay is not half as exciting or thrilling as it ought to have been. The drama offers very little novelty too. All in all, the screenplay doesn’t quite keep the viewers engaged. Devendra Maalviya’s dialogues are so-so.

Akashdeep Arora is alright. Deeksha Asthana is average. Sidharth Bhardwaj is okay. Kuldeep Singh Dangi delivers an ordinary performance. Devendra Singh Dev is so-so. Amit Jha lends dull support. Brijendra Kala is alright. Ashwani Kumar passes muster. Devendra Maalviya is not very impressive. Chetan Sharma, Bhupesh Singh, Samar Jai Singh, Vicky Yadav and the others are just about passable.

Devendra Maalviya’s direction is not up to the mark. Saurabh Mehta’s music, and Devendra Maalviya’s lyrics don’t add much to the film. Background music (Saurabh Mehta and Manik-Satya) is functional. Kartik Kumar Bhagat’s camerawork is dull. Akash Vishwakarma’s production designing is below the mark. Sayyed Faraz and Prince Bhave’s editing is loose.

On the whole, 2020 Delhi is a weak fare.

Released on 14-11-’25 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Platoon One Distribution. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
