The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has recommended blacklisting Aditya Dhar’s production studio, B62 Studios, because of repeated safety and regulatory violations during the shooting of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. This is the second time in recent days when the studio has made violations while shooting for the Dhurandhar sequel. The production team used lit torches (mashaals) on set in a high-security zone, which forced the Bombay police to intervene and seize the equipment. The unit also used a building terrace for shooting without obtaining the necessary permits from the civic body.
The studio is said to have used two generator vans on location without valid approvals from the local authorities.
A formal letter has been sent by the BMC to the deputy municipal commissioner, proposing a permanent ban on the studio from using the state’s single-window filming portal.
The BMC has forfeited the studio’s Rs. 25,000 security deposit and proposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh.
