Costume designer Farida Siddiqi, wife of writer Javed Siddiqi, passed away in Bombay on 20th February. She had designed costumes for several IPTA plays including Sufaid Kundli, starring Shabana Azmi, as well as a few films including Bazaar. Farida was the mother of actress Lubna Salim. She is survived by her husband and four children.
A prayer meeting in her memory was held on 1st March in Bombay at the Indian Medical Association Hall, behind Chandan Cinema, Juhu.
