The marriage ceremony of your editor, Komal Nahta’s son, Mohak, with Dikshita on 15th March in picturesque Udaipur was a supremely grand affair. The wedding and pre-wedding celebrations were all held at The Leela Palace and Trident Hotels which are both surrounded by lakes. The pre-wedding festivities started on 13th evening at Trident. A welcome lunch was hosted on 14th at The Leela Palace. It was followed by the sangeet ceremony the same evening at Trident, and dinner thereafter.
The traditional haldi ceremony at The Leela Palace started the day on March 15 for the bridegroom. This was followed by the phoolon ki haldi ceremony at Trident. Sumptuous lunch, replete with Rajasthani cuisine, rounded off the day function. An early baarat procession the same evening at The Leela Palace culminated in a sundowner varmala ceremony in which the couple exchanged garlands. This was followed by the marriage rituals. Both, the groom and the bride, looked regal in their Indian attires.

The pre-wedding reception of Mohak and Dikshita was held in Bombay at Taj Land’s End on 7th March. It was a star-studded affair with the who’s who of Bollywood in attendance. So huge was the presence of stars at the pre-wedding reception in Bombay that the popular Mayapuri magazine devoted an entire issue (dated 13th March) to it with wide coverage and colourful photographs of the event. The same issue also carried a detailed interview of your editor on the business of cinema.
