The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on March 25 ordered the Director General of Police (DGP) to form a special team to serve a third bailable warrant on actor Salman Khan in connection with an ongoing case regarding an allegedly misleading advertisement for Rajshree Pan Masala.
The Commission warned of severe consequences like issuance of non-bailable warrants (NBWs) if Salman failed to appear at the next hearing on April 6 or respond. The case has seen bailable warrants issued against the actor on January 15, February 9, and March 16.
The Commission said, Salman Khan has “continuously violated interim directions related to the ban on misleading advertisements”, stating, “Celebrity status does not grant right to be above law.”
