The National Film Awards ceremony will break convention this year and move outside Delhi for the first time in decades. The 72nd National Film Awards will be held at Ekta Nagar (earlier Kevadia) in Gujarat on September 22. The last time the National Film Awards function was held outside Delhi was in 1970, when the event took place in Madras.
The Information and Broadcasting ministry recently took a decision to make the Awards ceremony travel to different parts of the country.
