Aamir Khan on 24th September announced a book based on the colourful life of veteran music director Vanraj Bhatia. The 92-year-old’s deteriorating health and dire financial condition came into the spotlight after a newspaper reported about the same recently. The book will be written by film journalist and producer-director Khalid Mohamed. Actor Dalip Tahhil asked Aamir whether he’d be interested in backing the book project.
Vanraj Bhatia had scored the music for a play starring Dalip. The music composer had composed music for many films and over 6,000 ad films.
He had been honoured with the Padma Shri seven years ago. He had also won the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. After his plight became public, friends and well-wishers generously sent the ailing music composer financial aid. The Sangeet Natak Akademi also offered a one-time financial assistance.
