BIHAR GOVERNMENT SEEKS CBI PROBE INTO SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT DEATH | 5 August, 2020

The Bihar government on 4th August recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) enquiry into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. The recommendation came after Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey spoke to Sushant’s father, K.K. Singh, the same morning, stating that his consent would be required for a CBI enquiry to be demanded.

The CBI enquiry recommendation comes after the Bihar police team, which reached Bombay, allegedly did not get the Bombay police’s co-operation. It may be recalled that K.K. Singh had lodged an FIR with a police station in Patna on 25th July, in which he named Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her relatives for the death. The FIR states that Rs. 15 crore had been transferred from Sushant’s account to people he was not associated with. A four-member team of the Bihar police came to Bombay after the FIR was registered.
