SACHIN JOSHI CAN COLLECT HIS 1 KG. GOLD: COURT | 9 September, 2020

The Bombay high court on 7th September allowed producer Sachin Joshi to collect his 1 kilo of gold from Satyug Gold Pvt. Ltd., of which Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, were a part. On 4th September, the court had asked the company to deposit the gold with it.

Sachin Joshi had been proposed the investment scheme by Shilpa and her husband. Joshi paid more than Rs. 18 lakh to the company in March 2014. In return, he was supposed to get 1 kilo of gold after five years, in March 2019. However, Sachin claimed that ever since the scheme matured, he kept searching for the office from where he could collect the gold. He said, he could manage to find one office with great difficulty in November 2019. But even then, he wasn’t successful in getting the gold from the company’s office. In March 2020, he received a letter from Satyug, saying that they had been trying to contact him to give him the 1 kilo gold. The letter also stated that he would now have to pay Rs. 5,000 penalty for every day of default in collecting the gold since March 2019. The amount of penalty till March 2020 came to Rs. 17 lakh and till date, had crossed Rs. 25 lakh.
